Attn: Lonepeak wilderness hikers...Black bears spotted

A good size black bear was spotted atop Cherry Canyon trail up Lone Peak yesterday morning. Also, this past weekend up at the top of Eagle's Nest, lots of bear droppings were found. Just a heads up if you plan on any hiking in this area in the near future. There will probably be a lot of hunters in these areas anyway, but be on the lookout.

Long winter last year, short summer to fatten up, so they are not ready to den yet. Makes perfect sense to me.
