La Madre Mountain

la madre mountain is just north of red rocks and visible from many spots around the vegas bowl. mostly as a serrated ridge w/ steep, sheer walls as viewed from the south, but the north slopes are somewhat gentler and thinly wooded, and marked by a large "scar" of exposed rock, clearly visible from kyle canyon as one drives by. i wandered along the east ridge's lower slopes enjoying the sights, skirting above a couple canyons thick w/ flora before heading back down to deer pasture via one of the ridges radiating from the crest of the ridge above.
