Rode Green pond and Last Chance. They are in beautiful condition. Just stick dirt. I haven't rode them for a few weeks, but it seem like either Snowbasin or the forest service have take out quite a few of the big rocks and left divot holes.
I thought mountain biking was learning how to go over around the big rocks. instead of removing them. Does anyone have any knowledge as to why this is happening?

It has been going on all year and quite frustrating? I guess they may just be trying to make it more xterra race friendly so our boy lance doesnt twist an ankle on his run? pretty stupid if you ask me and it seems all are going to be double track before long with how much trimming back they have done.

It is the difference between the riders and the racers...the optimist side of me hopes they are doing it to keep people on the trail. This summer you saw a lot of trail widening to get around the rocks....my theory, if you have to take the rocks out, go ride the road!
I agree with you guys this is not a good thing. Most of the damage has been done on the lower stuff like East fork, Maples, Middle fork and even the top part of Ice box. It takes a lot of the challenge out of it. Also the embedded rocks help to stop erosion during the runoff or heavy rains. The bridges are also bad. They have weird approach angles the railings are in the way and if you go down on one of those bridges you are gunna get jacked up by the railings. I would rather just go flying off the bridge than hit a railing.:ne_nau:
