I had heard about artificial canyoneering parks in Europe but never actually seen one outside of a brochue.... anyhoo.... here is a Go Pro trip through an artificial canyon.... I particularly like the ladder escapes from the keeper potholes.... enjoy...

ii will have to admit that wold be pretty fun to go do knowing what the real thing is like. It would be a nice safe day with the family, and if youi kids start acting up you can go lock them in their cabin and continue on down the canyon.

That's a water park with ropes. Interesting idea, but nothing compared to the real deal.

I was thinking the same thing.... just imagine a hot summer day... long lines at each obstacle and some 14 y/o kid standing at the top of each obstacle telling everyone when it was safe to go. You can't jump until the previous person exits the pool, yada, yada.... I was thinking Cowabunga made out of grey plastic that looks like rocks.... but... With that being said.... I'd still buy a day pass and give it a whirl.....

I have nothing against figure 8's... I used one for years. It's just those damn rope twisters are not my first choice.

Keep in mind that this is in France. Liability seems quite different there - they still take seriously the idea of personal responsibility, unlike certain North American countries that pay lip service only. (I know! And they're socialists!!) We went to an "adventure park" in France - harnesses, zip lines, tightropes, etc. - and didn't even have to sign a waiver! There were, like, two 20-year-olds running the whole place from the little equipment shack. So I'm not sure there would be somebody at every drop telling you when it's safe to go. I may be completely wrong, but I have a feeling it would be a little more free than here.

Edited to add: Ah, just watched the video on the website - there are people controlling access to the waterslides in places. My mistake. Still, I can't help feeling that it's relatively less liability driven, overall.

seems to be 8's or similar devices are first choice for a lot of Euro class C. even the man made canyons

When I take total noob's out I often put them on an 8, because they are virtually idiot proof and its easy to see at a glance if they are clipped in correctly. YMMV
