You'll notice the new "Like this post" button under each post made in this thread. The button does not appear for your own posts.

The photo must be YOUR photo, either taken by you or you are in the photo.

The direct sunshine also helped make this one mind blowing. I stood there for about an hour even though most shots looked the same :)

Very cool!:2thumbs: We drove up the Kancamagus as part of a trip to the White Mtns (including a hike up Mt. Washington), and I could tell it had major fall color potential. NH was definitely my favorite state in New England simply because it had actual mountains that reminded me of the west and because the people there were outdoorsy and friendly (none of which was true about CT).

I made the longish drive down from Layton to check out the hype of Cascade Meadows last week. It is a beautiful area and a surprisingly rough road, like mentioned before. I had full intentions on waiting out the rain but the hunters were out in full force. After about the 5th gunshot that sounded a little to close for comfort I booked it out of there. Worked out though, the light didn't cooperate anyway.

I love the Kanc, I really never explored it much growing up, but have made a few visits the last few years (my vehicle won't make it up that far right now ha ha), and this summer started hiking/climbing in the white mountains and can't wait to get up there again in the next couple of weeks, though unfortunately, the foliage is a little messed up this season, and possibly won't be as vivid as usual.

I was a little stressed at work this morning, so for lunch I drove up Provo Canyon and went to the gate at the Rock Canyon Campground. What I saw blew me away. What you see won't. Sorry for the quality. This was from my Blackberry. It certainly doesn't do the colors justice. I'd say the colors are peaking about now. Get your fall shots while you can!

Thanks. I wish I would have had a real camera with me. I saw one lady taking photos at the overlook into Rock Canyon. She said she had taken the day off to shoot some photos and enjoy a beautiful fall day. I was jealous. She said she was on the Alpine Loop yesterday and that it was "amazing". I swear, weather wise, we are a month behind this year. Seriously, the colors were amazing!

48887 What was crazy was that I thought the colors were generally better on the other side of the ridge, meaning the Rock CAnyon side not the Provo Canyon side. It may have been the cool lighting when the clouds broke and everything was still wet with rain drops from the past evenings' rain storm. To answer the question, I think the mid level stuff was the best. The high stuff looked like it peaked a few days ago (pre storm) and the low stuff was just about to peak color, still quite a bit of green. Where I took the photo was at the turn off to the campground. Both photos were taken just a few hundred feet past the gate (that is now closed) to the entrance to the campground not from the campground which is below this spot.
