It's certainly a freak-show at the Powell house!

Hmmm. Now the police may have something. If son did something to Susan Powell, will father crack to save his own hide, aka plea bargain?

Big deal, they found his porn stash..... I bet no conviction comes from this.... just the cops trying to amp up the pressure again.... In police talk its called "stacking".

Hate to disagree my friend but child porn is a big deal. Reports are that he had been charged with child porn and voyeurism, child porn being the most serious (by a long shot) and voyeurism being less serious, at least that is how it is in this state. And yes, the police may pile on or "stack" as you call it, but the stuff on his computer, if true, is a big deal as it relates to children.

I agree.... child porn is a serious deal... but seeing how this case has been handled to date I'm betting they don't have anything they can actually convict him of.

So.... exactly how much did you want to bet?!?

Different jurisdiction handling this arrest and prosecution. My question is the quality of the search warrant that was obtained by WVCPD. That may be the weak link.

It could be a federal case if the defendant has any relationships with international child porn sites etc.

True. Although it sounds like it was hidden camera stuff in his house not internet. ewwwwwww. :crazycobasa::puke:

So the daughter in law found out what he was doing and threatened to turn hum in??

That's kind of what I was thinking. I would think that the police are looking at his whereabouts in the disappearance case. It certainly opens other possibilities.

That's the theory were throwing around. Maybe the husband didn't kill her, but knows who did...if you know what I mean.

I've never seen a child porn case not be handled by the Feds, but with it being pictures he took himself, I dunno how that would be handled. I find it interesting how earlier we hear that Susan complained for a while to her friends about her father-in-law's attitude towards her yet he says that it was all her. Kinda sounds like the whole "she was begging for it" argument that sicko rapists have used in the past.

The dad probably desires all this crap heading his way.... if he had of just STFU and not even mentioned any of this lust and journal stuff he would not be sitting in jail at the moment....

I'm glad he couldn't keep his mouth shut.

I bet the cops are hoping he keeps flapping his gums while in custody.

Agreed! I've always maintained that more people are in jail because of stupidity than any other reason.

Looks like this guy might be the key to solving this case since he can't keep his mouth shut like his son. Hopefully he will spill the beans.

I've got a buddy that is involved in this case and was talking to him about it. He was telling me about a report he had read that stated your chances of getting away with a crime go up 70% if you refuse to talk to police. People think they are smart and can lie/talk there way out of things.

People think they are smart

The problem is no matter how smart a criminal you are you can't make any mistakes.... while the cops can be dumb as a rock and mess up everything, yet they only have to get it right one time and the criminal is in jail.
