After being skunked twice in the past week because of rain, we finally got to descend Keyhole Canyon on Sunday. Because we had gone on to Bryce with no plans to return to Zion, we had to go from Kanab back over to the Backcountry Desk to secure a walk-in permit. The Sunday morning traffic line waiting to go through the Pine Creek Tunnel was LOOOONG:

My interaction with the staff at the the Backcountry Desk was efficient and uneventful. It was exciting that this was the first permit that I was able to secure in my name in the past two years.
We waited in yet another traffic line to return back through the Tunnel. The nice thing about being on vacation with no time constraints is that, when sitting in traffic lines, you can just sit back and enjoy the scenery. No stress!
After parking and suiting up, a group came out of Keyhole as we were about to leave the car. They reported that the canyon was FULL of water, not cold, and really fun - I was stoked!
I did not take my camera. John took his camera, so these pictures have all been taken by John Gums:
