I have been looking at doing this hike for years, but never planned to do it till a few months ago. My wife and I have heard great things about Coyote Gulch so we took some time off to give it a shot. Now there are so many ways that you can do this hike that is the major battle in planning

Great stuff, Wes! Between this, and Nick's report earlier in the year, this is climbing up my list for our trip out there in Fall 2012!

Nice vid. What camera mount are you using for the backpack?

Nice vid. What camera mount are you using for the backpack?

I bought a clamp for my go pro so I can clamp it where ever. This time I just clamped it onto my tripod.

Wes, what are you dragging with you for a camera/lens(es)?

I shoot with a 7d and sigma 10-20mm most the time, but drag a Rebel T1i with sometimes, along with a Canon 1400. I have 5 other lenses, but this I what I use most the time.

Very nice TR! I went there once a long time ago for four days. It's a very cool place. Did you happen to hike through a small tributary canyon to a 'grotto' with an elephant-head shaped rock formation above it? I was led there by someone who knew the area very well and I couldn't find it again, but it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Any chance you know how to get there?
