Earlier this summer I descended Yankee Doodle canyon for the first time. Because I'm recovering from ankle ligament reconstructive surgery, I was focused on making it through the canyon. I did successfully complete the canyon and I was delighted with my success, but I felt that I did not 'enjoy' the canyon. I needed to go back to Yankee Doodle.
On Friday morning, John and I returned to the canyon. It was just the two of us and we were unexpectedly surprised to see that we had the entire canyon to ourselves. Although I always enjoy my travels with groups, it seemed fitting that just the two of us were here together this day. My recovery has been a long and arduous road and John has been right by my side the entire time - for this I'm very thankful to call him Husband.
