Little Santa Anita Canyon - Re-visited

So I wanted to go back to my first canyon and see how the water levels had changed from one trip to the next. Very interesting. The upper half of the canyon had more water, whereas the lower portion dried up sooner than it had on my last trip. The lack of water at the lower parts made for a completely different canyon trip. Instead of simple jumps, down climbing was now required.

I took 3 climber friends with me. 1 very experienced. The only problem we had was a dropped ATC device :facepalm1: that decided to fall in a crack in the granite that made it irretrievable on the second Rappel. Since I have 2 spare rap devices it was no issue, other than money :cry1:. The water was cold :cold: as we started nice and early, but quickly climbed into the mid 80s and warmed us all up nicely. I took pictures of every rappel. A couple could have been down climbed, but since the bolts were there... we used them.

A couple hundred more pictures here (http://www.drunkreddragon.com/images/adventures/LittleSantaAnitaCanyon91111/index.html)

The crew.... I am the big boy on the right.

Nope, don't think so, I am still a newb to this activity, and don't know the local people just yet.

I can't say I blame you for not waiting for me to get back from my work trip. Nevertheless, you're a dick. When's the next one, and where are we going?

Yup. Hey! Life doesn't stand still and neither do I. We have to go out to Zion.... But in the mean time when you get back we are going to hit up Eaton or Bailey. Check them out. Eaton=Wet, Bailey=Dry.
