Ian Burnett dumped around turn one, but picked up a new bike and kept riding.

:2thumbs: Cool pics.
One of my summer traditions has been to record the Tour de France and watch nightly (I usually FF to the attacks and sprint finishes). Sometimes I just like to take a summer tour of France on TV.
It's cool to see many of the names I recognize. I went up to the Snowbird finish one year and the last stage goes near my house here in Sandy. It's fun to get the cowbells out.

Think I am going to try to do Snowbird this year as well, hike2kolob.

I'm gonna park myself at the top of the Alpine Loop on Sunday. I'm hoping to get some good photos. Leipheimer and Hincapie will be my primary targets.

I just gave myself an hour off at about 2:00 pm today:haha: Looks like the race will go right past my office!!!! I will try and get a camera to post some photos for ya'lls. I am kinda excited. I guess I am a little like Ice in that since they have numbers and they are racing, I am watching. I am guessing they will be sprinting to the finish line since my building is about 1.7 miles from the finish.

Number 11, I think that was his number, was the leader at the 3 km mark. Not sure if he won but he did have a couple seconds lead.
It was fun to see. I will say it came and went in a hurry. Also, my partners, staff and I were amused and annoyed at all the cars that were giving the cop a hard time for blocking the street. Good grief. I remember one particularly large set of people getting after the cop. Made me wonder just how entitled and self endulgent they were. But then I remembered to not judge and figured they just had a heart condition. :haha:

so no one fell for my fishing? :fishing:
I rode with Kelly Optium team car. got to hand out a bunch of feed, fix a tire. Really cool to see the logistics/support side of the sport and watch the race from behind and on the official race radio.
I never knew how much holding onto cars . . . . . I mean holding onto water bottles passed to you from the cars. One guy from another team just skips the water bottle and holds onto the car. Must have had a serious mechanical problem the jump mechanic was trying to diagnose. Of course we never did ANY of that . . .
Also there is a lot of pissing. The climb past Sundance a spanish rider from another team waved us over for assistance. we pull up and in broken english he asks if he pulls over to piss would we drag him back into his chase group. we didn't help him
Great photos guys and Trackrunner that is awesome that you were able to ride in one of the chase cars. I think the support/logistics of race teams is amazing. After watching Stage 4 we were driving through SLC and saw all of the team cars and trailers in the parking lot at the Downtown Sheraton. I stopped and watched the mechanics washing and working on the bikes for the next day. I am a geek!
I caught Stage 3 (time trials) and Stage 4 (Capital) and they were both incredible. I will post pics soon.
Here are some from Stage 3. This was the time trial out at Millers Motor Sports in Tooele. Very cool and very fast!
