SPOT service discount code

I bought a spot2 earlier this year at REI. They'd had some sort of "free adventure kit" come with it for the holidays and gave me the display kit when I bought my (un-adventure kit) spot, just to get rid of it. The kit was just a bunch of crap, but I'm a pack rat and got excited anyways. There was a whistle, a bandana with emergency tips (not on how to survive once you're in trouble, but more like a cloth version of the spot manual....interesting), mini flashlight, carabiner, etc. What I missed out on I guess is the 15% off service discount that came with the bundle. Does anyone have a discount code for spot service? I Googled it but only came up with codes from 2008 and 2010.

And any advice on what service to get? I'll be using it for mainly canyoneering so I feel like the tracking feature might be a waste of time since it's likely half my tracks won't send from the canyon. I could just 'check in' every hour or so for the same effect. Any experiences with this?

I just signed up for SPOT service for myself. My wife made me order one at the same time I was ordering another one. :mrgreen: I plan on sharing it with a few people.

I didn't have a promo code. I signed up for the basic service for $99 (required), the "track progress" for $49 and the product replacement program for $17.95 plus a $30 deductible. So the total was $167.97 per year.
