Not really. The very first year of Uutah fantasy football was my very first year playing fantasy football ever.....as you recall, I went on a tear and won two gold medals back to back, and silver the third year. I did all of this just based on Yahoo's default settings.

Last year I decided to get Krazy with it, and I monkeyed with the settings. - It resulted in me getting some douche who was on the injured reserve all summer, and Tom Brady, who promptly went down in his first game with a broken leg.

Moral of the story: Yahoo's default settings are pretty decent - just leave them alone.



This year I stayed with the "Black-Clad Utes" & I hope they don't get spanked as hard as the real Utes will in the Pac-12 this year. :mrgreen:

Our draft is set for August 28th at 7:00 pm, this is only 11 days before the first game. I thought it would be best to be on a sunday evening and Sept 4th only had early morning draft times available. I think we should leave it. Most teams will have their final rosters set on the 26th.

I'll move it if that's what everyone wants but it may end up being during the week and/or at a weird time. Thoughts?

If we can get 12. Look's like we have an eleventh but last year we tried to get 12 and ended up with teams that weren't being managed. Right now I know that all 10 teams are good managers and will play hard.

Aside from the usual blocked punts, interceptions, fumble recoveries, etc, how do you score points?

It's all defense. So you have Line backers, safeties, corner backs, DL, DE, & DT, as well as a 2 generic D positions which are usually filled by LB's. Scoring is:

Roster Positions: D, D, DB, DB, DL, DL, LB, LB, DT, DT, DE, DE, S, S, CB, CB, BN, BN, BN, BN

Tackle Solo 4
Tackle Assist 2
Sack 6
Interception 6
Fumble Force 2
Fumble Recovery 4
Defensive Touchdown 6
Safety 3
Pass Defended 2
Block Kick 4
Then there are 1/2 points to the above points for each assist. So, for example, if the sack is done by two guys they each get 3. Or if a CB tips the ball and a safety picks it then its 3 points a piece.

Typically the LB's & safeties are the big point guys since they get so many tackles, but a DE who gets 3-4 sacks a game is even more valuable cause he'll also get tackle assist points on almost every run play. Same thing for an aggressive safety who gets alot of interceptions.

I just have had a lot of fun doing it the last couple of years, it's interesting and makes watching the D even funner.

One BIG difference... the first three years of the league we didn't have a live draft. The live draft changed everything in my humble opinion... YMMV

I think they are pretty even. Seemed like most people got a couple of powerhouses and a few maybes. There was certainly some different draft strategies in effect. As usual, WHO KNOWS?

yeah I didn't really like my draft position but I never know untill a couple of games in, seemed like ever damn person that was on my radar was drafted before I got to them but I am glad I was able to make the draft...going to have to wait and see what injuries come across in the starting weeks with a shorter training camp, crazy off season.

Yep! Last year we had 8 teams all within a game of each other going into the home stretch. Teams change. Nerrrds is doing well but I wouldn't be surprised to see those numbers come down as the season progresses. Also, like most years, your best players get benched in the 14th and 15 th weeks if they have a playoff berth locked in. That's what happened a few years ago to the #1 seed. Lost to the 4th seed, happens all the time.

Injuries are also big equalizers... last year Storm was near the top of the leaderboard until about the 3/4 mark when two of her top players went down with season ending injuries and she sunk like a rock in the standings.

I'm with you on the lucky part. I seem to be able to squeak by each week. It's my crazy good management skills! I spend A LOT of time looking at matchups and waiver wire pick-ups. Seems to be working so far.

The Aaron Rodgers trade was legit! Rex came to me literally begging for a trade. He was convinced that Rodgers would start hot and then fail and he totally bought into the whole dream team eagles thing. I almost didn't make the trade after listening to him go on and on about how Vick was going to be so HOT down the stretch. Turns out he was wrong! Although last night Vick did begin to show what Rex was talking about.

Rivers is having a terrible year. He throws two INT's and then fumbles it. Costing his team the game. Then McCluster fumbles too. :facepalm1:

My team is completely anemic. I swear my fantasy team is a curse to all players in real life. Once they end up on my roster their real life performance drops like a rock.

Take for example the NFL's most vaunted and highest paid running back: Chris Johnson. Last season he ran riot. Now that he's on my team this season he's a limp-wristed chump who can hardly get 20 yards rushing on a good day, and he's only scored one TD all season.

And then there's Mr. Andre Johnson who is a monster WR, but this season he's been nursing a hamstring injury for going on 7 weeks.

And every time I pick up a new backup RB or WR to fill in for an injured starter, they either end up with hardly any yardage and a bagfull of fumbles or no yardage at all.

I'm completely cursed...there's no other explanation. :ne_nau:

i'm on a 4 game win streak, after hitting the waiver wire hard. picked up demarco murray and laurent robinson, who have finally given me some serious production. if run dmc gets healthy, i'll be in good shape. thinking it's a real long shot to get to the playoffs still though. probably need to win out, or close to it.

ha. i still think it's a stretch. i play scott this week, and colston and foster are on a bye. plus another game against the nerrrds. probably too late. the real shame is that i was off the grid the first two weeks of the season, and missed what should've been an easy game to win in week 1, when the auto-start placed kaeding and foster in my starting lineup, when they were clearly on the IR. oh well. not to mention the game i lost to you by two freakin points... took me a few weeks to realize points were being scored for PPR and return yards too. :facepalm1:

winslow has been a deadbeat all season... just happens you pick him up the week i play you, and he GOES off. i was off the grid since thursday, and didn't get to check back on stafford and his finger injury. he scores 37 while on my bench since i wasn't sure on thursday what his situation would be. :facepalm1:

Another pet peeve of mine is when a RB is going off - just having a helluva good run - so you start him just at the very time upper management decides to give a secondary RB a chance at some yardage, and sits your stud RB for no reason. That shit happens a lot nearing the playoffs - where coaches don't want to risk injuring a stud RB/WR going into the playoffs.
