The LTA is please to announce that on Saturday, July 16th, Bill Warner became the first person to surpass 300 miles per hour sitting on a motorcycle when he powered his way to a staggering 311.945 MPH at the 2011 Maine Event. We would like to congratulate Bill for his monumental achievement and also acknowledge the amount of dedication and personal sacrifice such a feat required.

Also Bill, thank you for proving that if you have to go fast, you have to come here.

Not for me. I once hit 165 on my GSXR750 on the freeway, at night with no traffic, and I was completely amazed at how quickly things happen at that speed. I remember thinking watch out for that piece of tire and before I knew it I was on it, got quite the headshake at 165, scared the living hell out of me. I never went over 120 again.
