Pine Creek Camera Recovery

About three weeks ago we went down Pine Creek. It was chock full of water and we did more swimming than we did hiking. Water was sub 40 and to top things off we lost our camera in one of the deep pools.

Well we went back today and tried out our new invention the Canyon Booty Device (CBD). The water levels had receded and the pool was probably 10-12 feet deep. On the third toss we hooked the camera that was in an Otterbox and attached to a sling and carabiner. The Otterbox was covered in a slimy, mossy substance but still intact and protecting the camera. The camera had a little frost on it but still worked and turned right back on.

I gotta give Otterbox a big thumbs up on this one!

The chances of actually hooking that camera were pretty slim so I think it was 90 percent luck that we grabbed it. It was a work issued camera so we were really hoping to find it!

If anyone has lost anything in one of the pools and thinks I might be able to yank it out with the CBD, PM me and when I hit up your canyon, I'll try to retrieve your lost gear......and return it!
