Hey all,
I
Be careful with Bear this year - while Ouray didn't get the super deep snows of the Front Range this spring (4 feet of snow still below treeline in July?), they did have a heavy snow year. Bear will probably be raging all summer, and the water may not drop to safe levels at all this year, and doubtfully if you go early in August. Maybe late August or even September but even then... Stop at Bear Creek Falls before you hike up, and take a peek upstream and decide. And no matter what canyons you descend, have fun! Ouray is a pretty special place.
