I am planning a trip there for our anniversery this fall and was wondering what some of you locals thought of the area. Certainly some of you have been there. Is it worth a trip to the East coast????

It looks great and everything but coming from Utah the bar is set pretty high on a WOW destination.

We would be hiking and maybe doing some see kayaking, but generally taking it fairly easy. Looks like the mountains can be climbed in short order.

John, I took my first trip there last August (though I wish I could have made it up there in the fall, but my fall trip was out to Utah/Arizona). I only spent a day and a half there, and the weather was gloomy, but it is a beautiful park. Its totally different than what you'll see out there with the amazing rocky shorlines. The interior is beautiful, and there are some nice hikes, and beautiful carriage trails that people can bike and hike for days. Aside from Acadia, There are a lot of beautiful places to see in Maine and here in NH. I wish I had been able to see more, and I plan to head back in the fall (its only 4-5 hours from me). here are a couple of shots
