The NPS has changed the rules regarding ranger guided tours through the Fiery Furnace. You must now make an on-line reservation at least 4 days in advance. All of the latest information, rules, and instructiuons on obtaining a permit are always listed here:

It's a great family hike, if you haven't done it place it near the top of your to-do list.

A friend and I want to do the technical route of Fiery Furnace this weekend. Nov 6th, 7th or 8th. Is anyone able to show us the way if we offer drinks or cash? :)

My wife and I took the ranger guided tour several years ago, very enjoyable. I suspect the reservation is due to the fact that this is a popular tour and that Arches is severely crowded in the summer months. We went this year and was shocked to the numbers (as we had not been there in about 6+ years. We had to get off the "beaten path" to enjoy ourselves. Once we got a couple of miles from pavement, we encountered only a few other hikers.
