Nice TR. One of our favorite hangouts.
so that's what this place is called. I've seen a few pictures but never a name with it. Looks like a fun spot. Are there other good things to see in that vicinity?

I think I first saw pictures of this place from abirken's photos. Looks awesome, thanks for posting.

HEHE!!! Love this. I like to hike it in the winter. Those waterfalls turn glacial.

I haven't spent much time in the area, so maybe a few others could help. There are a few things around though. Glenwood Springs has Doc Holladay's grave, hot springs, and a cave or two. I'm sure there's more, but those are the ones that are just off the top of my head.

I was wondering how the hike would be in the winter! It sounds like they don't close the trail.:2thumbs: Do you need crampons or snowshoes?

It's in the middle of the White River National Forest. You can continue hiking up past the lake, I am not sure how far. The Flat Tops are not far away. There is the bike path that runs along the river (under water currently) from Glenwood almost to Dotsero. Grizzly creek is a nice hike, it is not far from Hanging Lake. I have done the hike in early spring. encountered a lot of snow, there is one fairly steep and exposed rock outcropping (people have died here) that has a "railing" but would be under the snow in the winter. Numerous other steep trail sections also. Short but sweet.
