We had the honor of visiting this side canyon to Arch Canyon in May of 2010. A short drive up Coomb Wash from 95 is the mouth of Arch Canyon. We drove about 4 miles up the canyon, then decided to walk. It was a chamber of commerce day, in the 70's, lot's of water. After a few miles we arrived at the mouth of Texas Canyon, with a large group campsite here under the pine trees. The dirt road continues up Arch Canyon, and we head into one of the most beautiful canyons around IMO. Spires, domes, tall pines, waterfalls etc etc. We were not really sure how long the canyon is, so we hiked about 3 miles up to a slickrock cascade and set up camp for 2 days. We saw no one our entire trip.

We spent most of the first day hanging out near our camp site, trying to melt into the rock, then go cool off in our plunge pool. Not a bad life. The second day was spent exploring 4 or so miles up the canyon. This is a very deep canyon, the scale is pretty monumental.

I hated leaving this place. The upper canyon deserves 3 or 4 more days, I would like to find a way out the upper canyon and continue climbing. For another day.
