Does anybody know if I'll stay on unlimited data when I get the 5 and sign-up for another 2 years?

If you renew during your contract then yes you will.

If you renew/resign after the contract then no. It's really at the discretion of the employee.

Cool! My 2 year contract is up on June 24, 2012 (that's 2 years from the release date of the iPhone 4). I have considered getting the 5 on Verizon with a new plan. Then upgrading my wife from her 3GS to my current 4 and leaving her on AT&T maybe until the contract is up. However, I like unlimited...maybe I don't need it?

My wife is due for an upgrade now...but please wait. :lol8:

Stoked about the sync over wi-fi. I find that I hardly ever turn on my computer anymore. I browse the internet on my phone, email, pay bills, buy stuff online, all off the Iphone. Excited about the new OS!

When I upgraded to the 4, AT&T let me keep the unlimited data even though they TRIED to convince me that all I needed was the 2GB. I imagine they'll do the same for you.

Is this the real Boots? Or some kind of wannabe?

I have the 2GB and have never gone over it. I run pandora all day and download stuff constantly. But I am usually in a wifi area!

Oh I'm the one and only :) I finally figured out how to navigate my way though cyberspace to good old bogley...

90% of the time I'm under 2GB but there are the few times that I have to share my data connection with xbox live (because qwest sucks at life), and those months, I'm quite a bit over the 2GB limit...ha ha ha. Thank you unlimited data...allowing me to feed my xbox live addiction no matter what...

So is it all software updates or will there be hardware updates? Right now it seems like mobile devices are in following the path of the desktop hardware wars of the 90's.

The iPhone 5 will have some hardware updates as well. I don't know all the new features but I read that it will be faster and have an 8 MP camera.

Yeah, it'll have a few things mentioned. It's rumored to be called the 4S similar to the 3G S. The S stands for speed and comes with a faster processor. In the case of the 3 it was quite a bit faster.

I noticed some changes in the app store this week on my iPhone. I have the latest update and this didn't happen after an update. Apple must have made iCloud changes in the app store. I can view all my apps that are on the cloud and view my entire iTunes list wirelessly via a tab in the app store.

Do you have the iOS 5 beta?

Nope. I'm on 4.3.3. Anybody else seeing changes in the app store?

Love the look of all the updates...but am I the only one slightly put off by the way this guy talks? Just comes across as condescending to me, like he's talking to a 5 year old.

Im on Verizon right now and love their unlimited plan compared to AT&T. Right now Im using the Android Market on my phone so I'm really nervous about going to the Iphone 5 with the Apple market.

We will see how this goes, I might go through withdrawals.

The Apple AppStore isn't so bad...if you can't find something on there, you just have to jailbreak your iPhone and you'll most likely be able to get it from the "Other App Store"...

If you jailbreak it do you still get updates and all that? I swear I have heard people say it screws things up but I can't remember for the life of me what.

I can easy to screw up (IE redoing the jailbreak process) but you can be jailbroken with the latest firmware in under 10mins.

And yes, you still get all the updates and the phone will still function as normal, but with added capabilities.

Yes. They noted it in the full keynote address.

I've had a jailbroken iPhone for as long as I can remember. I still get all the updates too. My phone does everything a normal iPhone does + a ton more. Just everytime you upgrade, you have to re-jailbreak your phone with the new software...

You just have to be sure to change the password which allows access to all the phone files and you're good to go.

Good to know, I am just so use to my android OS that I think I will have to jailbreak the i5 to get all my old apps back. Although, from what I can tell.... appstore has better and similar almost everything anyways.

Does anyone know how well the new OS will synch with MS Outlook?

That is my biggest complaint with my iPhone. It does not synch very well with Outlook. I had an HTC phone, with windows mobile, before my iPhone. The HTC was aweful for web surfing (plus no apps), but was great when synching with Outlook.

Example. When I receive a meeting invite by email to be added to my calendar, the email app on my iPhone won't even let me open the invite attachment, let alone accept the invite to add to my calendar. :ne_nau:

I believe many of the Outlook issues have been fixed. I had the same probs as you, but with recent updates it all works for me.
