(AP) NEW YORK (AP) — College towns are prime spots for readers, according to a new study released by Amazon.com.

The online giant ranked Cambridge, Mass., home to Harvard University, as the country's most well-read city. In second place was Alexandria, Va., where George Washington University and Virginia Commonwealth University are located. Next were Berkeley, Calif., and Ann Arbor, Mich., both cities with a strong campus presence.

Amazon's list of the top 20 most well-read cities of populations 100,000 or higher was announced Thursday and based on the retailer's print and digital sales per capita of books, magazines and newspapers.

interesting. I wonder how they gathered and interpreted their data. SLC seems to be on all sorts of lists from worst air pollution to one of the best biking friendly cities to one of the healthiest cities.
