(AP) NEW YORK (AP) — College towns are prime spots for readers, according to a new study released by Amazon.com.
The online giant ranked Cambridge, Mass., home to Harvard University, as the country's most well-read city. In second place was Alexandria, Va., where George Washington University and Virginia Commonwealth University are located. Next were Berkeley, Calif., and Ann Arbor, Mich., both cities with a strong campus presence.
Amazon's list of the top 20 most well-read cities of populations 100,000 or higher was announced Thursday and based on the retailer's print and digital sales per capita of books, magazines and newspapers.
