Looking forward to new adventures and meeting new friends. I hope to learn what not to do as much as what to do regarding canyoneering experiences.

You will definitely LOVE Southern Utah. I just moved to Northern Recently but am Dieing to go back. With Zion National Park so close you have so many things to do.

If you like to swim and also hike I would definitely look into the "Subway" in Zions. I have only done it once but many others I know have done it several times. Its a couple miles down into the canyon and then its off and on Swimming and hiking down in the canyon. I would recommend a group of at least 4 but if you have too many then it will take a while. The hike back out of the canyon is pretty steep but the amount of fun you have is well worth it. Make sure you drop a vehicle at the end before you drive to the start ;)

Welcome! I moved to So. UT five years ago but only discovered canyoneering a couple of years ago. If you're looking for trip ideas, Tanya's site (comment above) is excellent. Bogley is also a wonderful resource for ideas, additional tips and current conditions. I also suggest adding yourself to Rich Carlson's ACA Canyoneering Meetup dot com group (I can't post links yet :cry1:) to find people to go with.
