Does anyone know of some good hikes or other nice things to do near Fantasy Canyon and/or Dinosaur NM?
I am not looking for anything to adventures because I.... ahhh... kind of cut off a finger 4-5 weeks ago and I am still healing. Hiking and camping will be fine, but I should put off rock scrambling and caving for a couple of more months.
I visited Fantasy Canyon about 10 years ago. It's a very small area so you can see it all in like 30 minutes.
This BLM link might give you ideas.

I thought the John Jarvie Ranch was neat to visit, but I like relics like that.

Nine Mile Canyon is a cool place to visit with lots of road side petroglyphs.

My page below has some ideas of what to do in the area:

If you are out for some good hikes, Harpers Corner and Ruple Point area great viewpoints with good trails. Hog Canyon and the area around Echo Park are great for hiking. Jones Hole is a good one as well.
Dry Fork (McConkie Ranch area), Island Park/Rainbow Park areas have great petroglyphs. Johnson Canyon has good pictographs (as does Jones Hole).
If you want something more rugged than the above, Split Mountain (either summit) makes an awesome climb with some of the best views in the world, but it involves scrambling, so will probably be out. Maybe stick to the above for now.
