Interesting... Is the site losing traction and becoming a shoe box for photos?

The photo-sharing space continues to heat up, and continues to leave dominant player Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/) in the dust innovation-wise. If one thing

Interesting. Are any bogley users on the newer communities listed like 500px, Instagram, or Mlkshk?

Interesting. I use Picasa for my photo albums, mainly because it is easy and synchs with all the other Google products I use (gmail, Blogger, Dashboard, etc.).

I have used Photobucket in the past, but only because it allowed for embedding on forums - something Picasa now allows. I can't stand all the ads on Photobucket, and how difficult it is (or was - I haven't logged into my account there in probably 1 1/2 years) to try and use.

I recently uploaded some photos to Flickr so I could post them on Bogley, since it seems lots of Bogley people use Flickr. However, I can't figure out how to embed the pictures in a post; I follow the instructions, but a small question mark shows up instead of the photo when I preview the post, or just as a link....anyone know how to do this?

Here's what I mean, following the instructions for inserting an image:

Does Flickr not allow embedding anymore? If it does, can someone give me a tip on how to do that? I've tried everything I can think of - trying the html, adding a .jpg tag at the end of the link....nothing works.

Picasa, OTOH, embeds fine:

I've never heard of the other photo sites you mentioned; I'd like to hear more about them if anyone has info.

Sonya, Flickr does allow embedding. For Bogley you need to use BB Code, a lot of other places you can use HTML (like a personal wordpress blog for example). Just click on the arrow above the image and select "Grab the HTML/BBCode". Click on BBCode and then the size you want then copy the code. Paste into a Bogley post and you should be golden.

Thank you, Nick :2thumbs: !

I thought I had tried that, and it showed up as a bunch of code, but I was probably doing the HTML code, since I had no idea what the BB code was all about.

I will give that a try in the Roadtrip Love darkroom thread, which is where I had wanted to post the pics I had loaded!

It works.
Thanks, I did not know you could do this.
