Help me find the hiking book/shoe thread.

There was a thread from at least a year ago which discussed which hiking boots or shoes each person who commented used for their hiking/backpacking trips. I've tried the search function, but can't find it. I know someone mentioned the North Face Hedgehog shoes, or at least posted a picture, but searching for that doesn't bring it up either. Anyway, I'm needing some new shoes and those hedgehogs sound good, but when I search on Google, there are several types of North Face Hedgehogs, so I need to know what the exact style number/description is of those shoes.

Never mind. I said "book" and I meant "boot" so that's probably throwing every one off! I want to take a different track so I'm starting a related thread.

I think shoe-preference is quite personal, for myself absolutely going for Merrell.
Most of them fit my foot perfectly starting at the first second I wear them.
Your choice also depends heavily on what activities you are planning on doing with the shoes: the amount of support to your foot that is needed, water resistance, type of sole, etc...
