Hi! My husband and I plus our two little ones want to go camping so badly, and we were hoping to find a good campsite that we could possibly camp at this coming week - We have the time:) We do realize it's a bit chilly, but we were hoping if we drove far enough south we might avoid it being too cold. And we're from New England so we'd like some trees, at least a few! We realize that the really nice wooded campsites would all be too cold this time of year. So, any and all thoughts are very helpful! Thank you!!!

welcome to the forum!
this is a pretty broad question for such a large state. some more information would help folks make suggestions for you. for example, where do you live and what's the range of hours/distance you would consider driving. also are you interested in southern utah deserts? something in northern utah? the basin and range region of western utah (and nevada)? anything to narrow it down would be helpful.
It would also help to know what you drive. some camping areas are really only available VIA higher clearance vehicles... Utah is full of great places with and without trees that can be tons of fun :)

Sorry I wasn't specific enough! So, we are in Orem/Provo area and we could drive up to 6 hours or so. We are up for new adventures, but not sure if desert camping - which I'd never considered before since I'm from NH - if that kind of camping works well with little ones, ages 2 1/2 and 9 mos. Hiking a lot is also not something we'll be doing at this stage of our lives ;) What I imagine more of is just spending time in the great outdoors - but Utah is of very different terrain than I'm used to, so what have ppl with children found fun out here for camping? And we also are not very interested in campsites that don't allow campfires. That's half the fun for us ;) Thank You so much for trying to offer suggestions! And PS we drive a smaller car - just a Ford Taurus, plus we'd prefer a campsite not full of RVers etc, more tent people like ourselves would be best.

Welcome to the forum from a fellow Granite Stater! Where in NH are you from? I don't have anything to add other than welcome, and I'm sure you'll find some fantastic places to explore with the kids!

we could drive up to 6 hours or so.This time of year and with the record snow all over the state you have to head south!
If you have never been to the National Parks/State Parks you should start there (imo)! Zion, or Zions:twisted:, Bryce, Arches, Canyonland, Capitol Reef (National Parks) State Parks are too numerous to name but.... (Kodachrome, Goblin, Red Cliffs Recreation Area, Snow Canyon, Deadhorse...)
