Hi Everyone,
We are planning a trip out to Zion for next week and hoping to do about a half dozen technical canyons. It sounds like the water levels might be quite high right now. I'm looking for beta about which canyons might be too dangerous under these conditions? Any canyons that might be unaffected or especially fun to do with the current high water levels?
Thanks!

Four of us did Spry with a side trip up Mount Spry as well. 7 hours total. Have done Spry at least 10 times, but this one with the side trip was most excellent! No dry suits, but a short cold swim(which was avoidable) in shorts on a hot day was fine. I posted directions on canyon exit to Mount Spry and re-entry to the canyon on the Bogley Facebook site.

the route & other high point canyoneering combo routes can also be found in Courtney Purcell's, a member of this forum, book Zion National Park: Summit Routes
If's a fine book if you like peakbagging, climbing, & scrambling.

shutdown means canyoneering without permits

Due to the potential government shitdown, and also difficult access to many of the higher canyons due to snow, I think we are going to head to Escalante instead.

We followed Courtney's route out of Spry to Mount Spry, but found a better ,easier way and also without missing any of the raps in Spry Canyon. check Bogley Facebook page for info......Talked to Ram and Tom yesterday about it. Ram did Mount Spry about 20 years ago. From THE BOTTOM UP Spry Canyon! Too Cool!
