I joined up so I could say thanks to all those that posted detailed trip reports here, particularly Udink and Summit. I'm planning a 2 week romp through Southern Utah this June, and I relied heavily on posts from this site to select "kid friendly" hikes.
As for me, I lived in Salt Lake City for a spell back in the late 90's. I loved heading south whenever I got the chance, Escalate being my favorite destination. Since then I've lived in Colorado, North Carolina, and now Virginia. I guess I'm partial to that general latitude.
I couldn't afford a nice camera back in the 90's, so I promised myself if I ever made it back to Utah I'd take a decent camera with me. Well, it turns out I still can't afford a decent camera :) However a promise is a promise, so I snagged a big boy camera for the tip in June... just need to learn how to use it now.
