Hello,
After being a lurker enjoying the many great trip reports and photos on this site, I decided to take a little more active role and actually join and contribute. Exploring the red rock and canyons of S Utah has become one of my passions that I do every chance I get. Luckily with a daughter just finishing at BYU (and two more that will be there for the next ten years or so) I usually get the chance every April and August at the end and beginning of the school year. And any time in between when an opportunity presents itself.
I love exploring slot canyons (non-technical), slickrock walks/climbs, and surfing the net/reading books to plan my next red rock adventure (coming up next month after my daughter graduates - we plan to spend a few days exploring the San Rafael Swell area). I haven't gotten into the technical side of the canyons, but it is definitely an idea that is planted in my head. When I'm not hiking in red rock, I can be found engaging in my other passion, fly-fishing small streams, of which S Utah surprisingly has quite a few. It is a great way to spend time in the outdoors with one or more of my three daughters (and occassionally my wife).
I look forward to sharing the experiences of the members of this community and I hope to share a few of my own along the way! (a few images from my previous trips)
