denali bluffs is right above the park entrance, so if you want to play in denali, that's closer. not sure which mckinley lodge you are referencing, but if it's the princess lodge it's actually a couple hours south, near talkeetna. the other one is mckinley chalets, which is a pretty typical cruise guest type hotel outside the park. i think aramark runs it, and it gets holland cruise guests mainly.
depends on what you are looking for, and which lodges you are referring to.

I am pretty familiar with both of these lodges.
The nice thing about Denali Bluff is that you are close to Denali's main entrance. There is no real "town" of Denali but the Denali Bluff is pretty close to the touristy area that would be considered the town. If you are Mormon there is an LDS church in Cantwell or Healy (I forget which one) and that is just north of the main entrance to the park by about 20 minutes and Denali National Park is seriously the coolest National park for the way it is run (IMO).
McKinley lodge is a bit more in the middle of nowhere (Princess intentionally tries to keep their guests away from the other companies a bit, so both of these lodges are a little removed from all of the other companies and tourism operators) but the McKinley Lodge is closer to Talkeetna which is one of the coolest Alaskan towns ever. The McKinley Lodge is about in the middle of Denali and Anchorage.
Both locations will be fine, but I would prefer to be closer to Denali myself. If you get a chance you should totally hike the Stampede Road Trail in Denali. It is way cool.
You also need to make it down to Girdwood (hour southwest of Anchorage)for some fun down there too. I am jealous of you!

To be more spefic, its McKinley Village 8 miles out of Denali National Park. I've never been and know very little people that have. I'm so super excited though

mckinley village is slightly more isolated than the bluffs. most of the seasonal employees from all the different establishments seem to hang out in the town of denali park (just north of the park entrance, where there's kind of a strip mall and salmon bake and tons of hotels) or towards healy, which is like 11 miles north of the park. either way, they are all connected by busses and easy enough to get to and from.
probably can't go wrong with either. sounds like a fun summer, enjoy!
