~1 hour north of las vegas east of hwy 93 the arrow canyon range is visible as a steep uprising punctuated by breaks giving access to the ridge line and washes below. it looks daunting from the 93, but heading up the draws really is easy, but a little strenuous. some really nice banding wiggles along its length making for interesting contrasts. since mid january it has been averaging around 60 here, w/ a notable exception last week w/ cooler temps and nasty wind chill. today was a pleasant 70 degree day and it smells great in the mojave ! damn ticks are coming out tho.

Looks pretty desolate.
Now's the perfect time to hike, I bet it gets crispy there in the summer.

See any desert bighorn sheep?

Nice photos.

Arrow Canyon itself is a pretty neat walk though. Soaring limestone walls and wild petroglyphs. Some rock climbing and some issues related to climbing and the BLM, land owner, etc.

Rumor has the house/property on the east side is/was for sale?

thanks. never been to arrow canyon proper for exactly those access issues. prefer the tons of places to go where i have absolutely no hassle at all.

Looks like a fun hike. Has anyone seen a rattlesnake from this range? I'm trying to figure out if Panamint rattlesnakes make it that far east.
