This morning, at the bottom of my Gmail page, I saw an ad for "Heated Wetsuits", clicked on the link and found this:

http://www.heatedwetsuits.com/

There have been times when I was cold enough to want one. But $390?

Thoughts?

Heat would be nice, but are they heavier to carry?

And when the battery pack fails to stay waterproof from the rigors of canyoneering, the electric shock will keep you moving fast!

This is the part that I wondered about... It says it's lightweight and waterproof. Kind of like a rashguard with a heating pad. I think it would be nice to have in a long wet canyon (Heaps, Imlay) for the end of the day when you're at the limit of exhaustion. Upon searching, there are some cheaper options (like a reusable chemical pack http://www.hotsuits.com.au/) for much less.

Just curious if anyone else had used one. (I'd rather hear about someone ELSE getting ripped off than get ripped off.):naughty:

I already have a heated wetsuit, though it's power is directly related to the amount of Olga's Beans eaten the night before!

I just got mine! So far havent done anything but put it on and turned it on. It gets REALLY hot!! Really nice material. Looks really nice. Can't wait to try it out in some cold water but so far looks like a great buy! They are running a $100 off coupon right now so I only paid 290 with free shipping! Will let you know when I try it!

Finally got to try it! LOVE IT! So far I used to Kiteboarding and it kept me so warm in 40 degree water. The 3 settings is really nice because the hot gets really hot. I wore it on low under my hoodie and went for a hike the other day when it was 30 degrees out. It lasted for hours and kept me nice and toasty the whole time. I'm really glad I bought it. It is going to come in handy for a lot of things. My back has been sore lately so just wearing it around the house as a heating pad for my back has been really nice.

Nothing like a dude in a wet suit at the dinner table. :haha: I can see that would come in handy when you eat ribs. To clean up you just get someone to hose you down. :2thumbs:

I wish. Think how bouyant it would be! Typically the gas traps at the neck gasket!
