So after seeing this picture I decided to head toward Zion/Emerald Pools/Breakfast Falls. I passed many big semi's heading to and from Zion and thought that was odd. Upon arrival I was informed that the Park (all of it was closed) and they were dumping rocks/debris in hopes of preventing a washout! DOH!

The Springdale locals only hike in Zion when it's raining like that and the whole place comes alive with waterfalls.

Since they are evacuated they wont be doing that for now, but I know what you mean. I LOVE Zion when its full of water! Not when the rocks slide down the hill on my car though while driving down the switchbacks since I am on the east side.
Welcome to the group
