I really need help finding this Movie?

I think it was a horror-comedy that played on cable in the early to mid 90's. Anyway in the movie there were some scenes of gore(like stabbing someone with a sign) there was also a seen where i think a newswoman was in a dark news studio or dark room and something jumps on her face(i think a squirrel or a little monster or something. I think the movie has monsters in it or something i cant remember because i was young when i seen it.
