Hello
I have noticed a problem with 5.10 canyoneers: sand gets trapped in the mesh inside the shoes (mainly in the toe area) and creates internal bulges which can make the shoes unwearable. I have not found a good way to remove the sand. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I haven't owned 5.10 Canyoneers, but quite a few years ago I had some mid-top Merrell Hiking Shoe/Boots, and the sand got trapped between the fabric outerskin and the inside lining. It packed in and became very stiff and solid. I took a knife and sliced the fabric on the outer fabric and dug the sand out. It kinda ruined the boots, but I still used them for a long time afterwards.

Bo, that is precisely the problem. The bulges get large and hard (uh...huh huh...large and hard). Then the shoe is unwearable.
Thanks for the input!

I would try taking them to a carwash and blasting the area with high pressure. Might break it down and wash it out?
