Let me know how you like it. I have a few friends that use them while hydrofoiling and some of the video from that is great. I've been wanting one for a while now but funds keep preventing me from splurging.

Funny you should put up a product review (soon anyways) of the GoPro HD, cause my last canyoneering adventure of the season was down Great White Icicle in Little Cottonwood Canyon and my friend Jeff just had his arrive the day before.

Anywho, here is the video he edited of himself going down all the rappels.

PS - He Loves it! He's going to take it boarding with him this year to get all his action shots. He's pretty stoked about it.

Hydrofoiling as in Sky Ski? If so let's see those videos.:hail2thechief:

I'm just to the point where I can land gainers on my foil but I'm a slow learner. I was looking through some of the hydrofoil forums of my friend with his cam but couldn't find a recent ones, here's a couple of the Helmet pro vids from the site:

I bought one at the end of the summer and have used it for wakeboarding, biking, snorkeling and snowboarding. It works like a charm for all.

I haven't mounted it on my helmet yet so when I do that it will be less bumpy (just used the headband in this one). Also this upload is not HD.

That thing is a sweet camera! I bought mine a few months ago and is worth it!
I bought it first to take on The Subway Hike, mounted on my helmet. But I also mount it to the top of our truck for some trail running. I even have mounted it to the back of my longboard. I just love the superwide angle.

Heres a few videos I have made with it.

Windows Live Movie Maker works like a charm for these HD MP4 videos. Only available on Windows 7 though.

Cool, so I assume the Subway and Longboard videos were on 960 resolution, and the Fins n Things was on 720?

your right on the first 2 the Fins N Things was shot at 1080, but I think that was overkill and not sure if I need to ever have it set that high. Just wanted to test it out. Once I edited it I dropped it down anyway.

I like the 960 view while riding, but it doesn't give the 60 frames per second for a smooth slow-mo playback if somebody crashes. I wonder if the 720 will be tall enough, as it gives the 60 fps.

I snagged them all from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Fie%3DUT F8%26ref_%3Dnb_sb_ss_i_0_17%26field-keywords%3Dgopro%2520accessories%26url%3Dsearch-alias%253Daps%26sprefix%3Dgopro%2520accessories&tag=bogloutdcomm-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957

One last thing I need is the tripod mount, 8 bucks.

Myself I bought all my stuff from this site http://www.altrec.com/gopro/?redirect_search_term=go%20pro
But there is a way to get it all at 20% off. If you do a review on an item you bought from them and they aprove it then they will if you 20% off your full next purchase. So I got my Helmet Hero for only $240. I have almost spent a grand with them this year, and they have been great!

Anyone know of any other way to get a good price on one of these? I've wanted one for a while but figured I'd have to kiss their butt big time at the Outdoor Retailer show just to get a discount. Porblem is I can never find the right person's butt to kiss and am not into random butt kissing marathons unless really hot women are involved.

You can find the "naked" camera for around $230 (without any mounting packages)

Scott, That was bad ass, reminds me of the hands free on the cell phone with a rubber band around your face. If only you could have been the creater of this you would be a very rich man, now lets see the old school footage with it? SWEET!

Yeah, where is that footage beech?

I remember I had to compress it down so we could upload it to our old 2MB size limit. :lol8: I might have the original backup of it somewhere. I'll look around.

LOL, I found the first helmetcam stuff we did on Bear Claw Poppy. Some of the clips got "lost in the move" but there are still 5 of them:

Been looking at picking up one of these next month but hope someone can answer a couple questions:

I read a few threads where people mentions that these do not float and are at the bottom of the lake, Assuming this is true, how do most of you solve this? I'm thinking of either a lanyard or some type of Floatee?

Another question I have is; How's the still photo's? I normally have my Canon Digital Rebel on the boat and that's great for times when I'm in the boat but there are a lot more times when I'm in the middle of a social swim enjoying a beer and would like to take stills of my friends out in the water. Is the wide angle of the lens too much for this?
