Have any of you read anything about the broke down cruise ship? I'm absolutely floored by the whining. Here are the top list of passenger complaints.

*No hot food
*No hot water
*Had to eat SPAM
*Toilets don't flush
*No electricity
*No air conditioning
*No telephone

My question is this: How is that really different from a good camping/backpacking/canyoneering/mountain climbing trip? This is why I've never been on a cruise. The buffet is only open 22 hours a day? Oh, the horror. What am I going to do between 2 and 4 AM? Somebody call UNICEF. I think I'll starve! :cry1:

The camping trip has solitude in the outdoors. HUGE difference.

In their defense, it pretty much blows being on a cruise ship when there is good food, electricity and flowing water. I think I would have considered escaping in a life boat if I were on that ship.

Most people that cruise dont camp! Imagine a whole boat of people that have had buffets 24/7 and now no plumbing.

I am on one of those boats soon!

Best quote
"There's been no food, no power, no electricity, no flushing toilets. I spent the night tossing and turning in my cabin in the dark."

Sleeping in the dark! aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh the horror!

Without blowing air on those boats it gets so hot a muggy. The boats are full of smokers too because they make their money via a on ship casino. Although this time of year it should not have been so bad. I liked hanging out on the balcony. I liked that hot, muggy air.

I'm taking my wife, youngest son and one of my nieces on a Christmas Cruise this year - it's the sister ship of this one but the Ensenada cruise, not the 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise. I actually enjoy these - the pampering, relaxing on deck, the people, sometimes the food, the evening shows, mostly the experience. Next year we'll probably head to Nova Scotia - or Hawaii. Who knows?
