Hey all,

Was wondering if anyone has been in the North Wash/Irish canyons (near Sandthrax) lately? Blarney, Lep, etc? How about poison springs canyons? When were you there, and what conditions did you find? A group of us are heading out there this upcoming weekend.

Which brings me to my second point; we'll currently have around 10-ish people. It's my birthday weekend, so we are celebrating with some fun canyons, and then potluck dinners and relaxing by the fire in the evenings. If you are in the neighborhood, feel free to stop by and say hello. If you want to join us for the canyons, e-mail me side band. I could likely take one or two more through.

For those wanting to avoid a large group; the tentative plan is one or more of the Poison Springs canyons on Thursday, Right Fork of Leprechaun on Friday (Kelsey's East Fork of 28.1 Mile canyon); with an option to do more if folks want. Saturday is likely Left Fork of Blarney (Kelsey's West Fork of 27.6 Mile canyon) although we might also opt for the Left Fork of Leprechaun for some fun tight narrows and a dark corridor. (We will be flexible...) Sunday could be one of several mini-slots, Lucky Charms, etc.

Thanks for any info, and maybe see you out there!

Take care,
A.J.

Drove down to Blarney Saturday and took my Sister and her husband through the West fork of Blarney. Canyon had only one spot with water which only appeared to be about 5" deep. Easily skirted around that. There was some wet walls and mud in the deep sections and we came out of it certainly dirtier than we started. The air temps were breezy on the rim and wore a jacket on the approach, but inside the canyon that came off and got stuffed into the pack. Took us 3 hrs from car to car.:2thumbs:

Hey AJ,

I feel like a broken record with all the people asking about NW lately. :haha: The aforementioned swim in the Lep complex. Water in East Lep is avoidable all the way through. Morocco had lots of wades, a couple short swims. Didn't use wet suits in either.

Small group coming out from your town on Friday. Looking to do Shenanigans and Main Lep Saturday, perhaps Arscenic or Merry Piglet Sunday. Toss up whether we'll camp at Sandthrax or Poison Springs. Hopefully we won't have any traffic jams!
