Hiked Hidden canyon a while back, just getting around to posting pics, sorry guys. :fitz:

So my took the family hiking up hidden canyon. Had a blast. We made it about half way up. Not bad for a 4 year old. 4 miles I would guess. Hard to tell when you're hauling a small child on your shoulders most of the way, everything seems further, haha. It was also the first time I got him to do some serious rock climbing. I have attempted in the past to take him climbing with me, but the harness and ropes seem to intimidate him still. But doing some bouldering in a canyon? He was all over it! Special thanks to my fiance Angela. She was instrumental in encouraging him along. She had the idea to bring his favorite toy and then we made a game out of it. "Let's show Jesse (his toy) the top of this hill, rock, mountain" it worked like a charm and he had a lot of fun. So we took lots of pictures with his toy in different poses and then would move on to the next goal. The canyon as always was gorgeous, all kinds of weird succulents, mosses, and vivid green trees abounded. This is my favorite hike in Zion.

Got some vids of my little dude climbing too. I know it's not super impressive but I could not stop grinning from ear to ear knowing my son was finally learning to love climbing and bouldering as much as I do. As he gets older we will try to adjust the scale a bit, hehe. By the time he's 5 or 6, maybe we can get him on some technical stuff

I don't know but I do know that I think the Bogley uploader sucks. IMO it is much easier to upload them to Picasa or something and then just use the URL of the image. You can add the tag yourself (link) or you can just click on the image button and select the "from URL" option.

Looks like a nice trip though. Thanks for sharing.

Haha classic! Looks like you figured out this awesome strat as well. We should do a hike together and make a movie like oldno7 says. :haha:

Hey Tanya, we made it to the first arch but not the 2nd one, I like the 2nd one better cause you can walk across it. Maybe next time. It's about the 17th pic down on my TR. Little hard to see in the background there. Here is another of the first arch though.

Yeah it's hard to see going up, but easy to find going down. It's very high on the right (same side as the other arch) about 50 feet before the section you have to stem straight up about 25 feet. Just before the waterfall area. So you just pass it, stem up the ridge and walk back down canyon and you can walk on top of it. It's only about 4 feet wide and 15 feet long, easy to miss. :2thumbs:
