just another fantastic cedar mesa slot. took us just over 10 hours top to bottom. i would suggest spot the car at gravel crossing and drive towards the upper TH ( 1.5 hour from gravel crossing, no significant problem in my hyundai elantra gt, just slow when you need to ) to camp somewhere around the dark canyon TH - either on slickrock before it or in trees after - so you can get an earlier start next morning. we had to push pace the open areas to still have to come out in headlamps the last mile or so in white canyon due to a slightly later start. we had to build/rig all our own anchors ( so do not forget the webbing/rapides ), which consumed some time, but for one slung tree near the top. 4 in all i think ? maybe 5. 100' rope and pull cord worked for us. an ibis hook could been very useful as well in a couple places. plenty of water but only a couple spots deeper than we could touch at 6' tall. i was fine w/out a wetsuit but your tolerance ( aka, sissy-ness :smilehah: ) may vary.

until its just another super cool wide open canyon about 1.5 miles ( ? ) above the confluence w/ white canyon.

along the way we also saw 3 tarantulas. i tried to help one by getting it out of the water course and mud, but when i set it on the rock i noticed its fangs out and felt a couple scratches. the lil' ****er tried to bite me ! it was just scared as it was so weak. and it is mating season so the boys are all stoked up.
