Amethyst Lake TR

Saturday Dave, his friend Tillman and I hiked into Amethyst Lake in the Uintas. It was my second trip to Amethyst but I was hoping to see Ostler Lake as well. We did get to Ostler but the light wasn't what I wanted so images for there. The weather was great and unbelievably we had the pace to ourselves. We saw the first people on the way out after we were back on the Stillwater Fork. Some beautiful brookies finning in Amethyst. Just about as perfect a day as one could expect in early October in the Uintas.

Nice pics.

It's hard to imagine not seeing anyone on that trail until the way out. I'm jealous. Wishing I could get out there one more, one last time this year.
