I just pulled this K&N system off last week. Sold new, the cheapest one I could find online was $217.94. I just bought a stock air cleaner for my rig and paid $165 for the whole thing. Isn't a K&N system better than stock ? I have been using K&N performance products for the past 20 years.

Supposedly they get you better gas mileage and performance. On the other hand, they are not warrantied for dusty, dirt road conditions, if you check the label on their products. In other words, they guarantee that their products will out-perform stock systems on highways and other paved roads, but if they won't guarantee them in dusty conditions, that makes me wonder about them. That and the fact that two trusted mechanics have told me they'd get rid of it and go back to stock. Now, that might not help me sell it, but I don't want to mislead anyone either.
