I went to Moab this last weekend with my family and my wife felt like we didn't do enough hiking. We hiked Tusher Tunnel (which is fun but VERY short) and we did some exploratory hikes near our campsite (with a couple of spots which were a little too scary for my wife). And we played in the Colorado and just messed around.
At the end of the campout my wife told me that our trip was too much camping, and not enough hiking.
We are going back to Moab in 3 weeks to meet up with Richard Barron (http://www.bogley.com/forum/member.php?u=86). So I am hoping to do more homework between now and then to find some hikes that will truly please her. We have done most of the most popular and must see hikes of Moab. I wanted to check with you guys and see if you have any great recommendations for hikes in the Moab area. I discovered this last weekend that I can hike pretty well with my son on my shoulders and my daughter in my baby backpack carrier.
So anyway, what have been your favorite hikes in the Moab area? What suggestions do you have for me and my family to do in September in Moab? Thanks.

The Tunnel in Arches
You gave me the directions once to the Tunnel in Arches, and I spent HOURS trying to find it, and never could. I want to find that tunnel very badly, but things did not go well last time :)
Looking to see what surfaces here, we'll be in Moab the same time. I know I'm planning to see Richard, now we might get to see you, too. :cool2:

Some places I would suggest:
Corona Arch
Courthouse Wash
Delicate Arch
Devils Garden Primvative Tail
Fiery Furnace
Fisher Towers
Funnel Arch
Onion Creek
Ring Arch
Tower Arch
Moab Area

Sounds like you would be able to set up a car shuttle, which makes it a great time to do Courthouse Wash.
Skull Arch - Fiery Furnace

Corona Arch is an awesome hike if you never done it. I also like to get lost in Fiery Furnace in Arches. Check Iceaxe's site, he has a ton of hikes around Moab area.
Millcreek hike is great on a hot day

Hidden Valley is good too, 2 miles each way.
The Moab Rim trail ends in the same place it does.

It would be great for us to hook up together. Let's plan something.

In addition to the ones above already mentioned (all of which are good hikes), here are some more:
Have you been to Professor Creek already (photo from Traci on Summitpost)?

I really like Behind the Rocks. Lots to explore there.

Salt Wash is nice, but there are some bushes to get through at the very first section. After that it's easy flat walking.
In Arches, I really like the Klondike Bluffs/Tower Arch area.

Here's a couple of shots from Corona Arch I took about a month ago just a hour after they had their big "gully wash" Also, even though you don't really need this....I did track the little hike on my Android...here is the link to that ~

I of course did take some pictures, but I don't really know how many pictures I took that would really be of interest to many people around here. Other than the picture I took with Richard Barron. I'll definitely post that picture, and try and scrounge up a small trip report.

I am still going through my pictures from Moab last weekend, because we took a ton but I did want to post the picture with me and Richard Barron. We had a great trip but one of the highlights was sharing a campfire with Richard and his wife Abby. They had us laughing really hard with some of their stories, and had a very nice evening around the campfire.
Cool, Lets see some more of those pics Dan.
Hope you dont mind but there was something wrong with your hat.
