ZION NATIONAL PARK, Utah (AP) -- Zion National Park will waive entrance fees on Saturday in observance of National Public Lands Day. . .

The park's Public Lands Day volunteer project will be fence building and trail rehabilitation in the Kolob Canyons section of the park. Volunteers for this project must pre-register by calling the Kolob Canyons visitor center.

Zion National Park will celebrate National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 25, 2010. In observance of this day, the National Park Service is offering an opportunity for people to volunteer in the Kolob Canyons section of Zion National Park. Volunteer projects will include fence building and trail rehabilitation.

Volunteers should gather at the Kolob Canyons Visitor Center on Saturday, September 25. The project will last from 8 a.m. to noon. Kolob Canyons is located at Exit 40 off of Interstate 15. The exit is approximately 45 miles north of Springdale and 17 miles south of Cedar City.

Tools, snacks, and water will be provided for participants. Please be prepared and wear clothing appropriate for working outside including a hat and sturdy shoes or boots. Pre-registration is required.
