Bow Hunting Elk - China Meadows

This is my brother's elk he got in China Meadows over Labor Day weekend of all times and places. It sounds like it was a zoo up there, he was going to be happy with a cow but ended up with a nice bull.

He's got a great story to go with it, I'll let him log on and tell it.

He only had a permit for the head. Somewhere out there is a body walking around.... that's a different permit.

Actually, he said it was 300 lbs of meat & bone. He's got the steaks in his freezer right now.

Ive never hunted before and was wondering what the process is to get the elk back home? Do you cut it in pieces and if so with what? Can you give step by step basics.
