From two hikes. First to Lake of the Crags in the Tetons. It's above Jenny Lake and gains about 3000 feet in 3-ish miles. Fairly popular despite the grade, passing one pond and 2 lakes. Best camping at the lower lake. It was really muggy down low from an overnight thunderstorm, but then we climbed above the humidity (and then descended back into it on the way down). Go EARLY on this one, as the route is east facing and very exposed to the morning sun.

Later, visited Cirque of the Towers and Deep Lake (in the Winds of course). I had a choice between here and a canyon trip to Zion. Brief summer? Uncertainty at Kolob? Really unpleasant permit system? Let's go to the mountains! The Cirque is great, but the Deep Lake drainage is also very neat, with large lakes and water sliding down Sierra-type granite slabs. Painless walking to Big Sandy, then a bit more work going over Jackass Pass.
