Backpacking the Uintas once again! Homerj's Wind River TR inspired me... if he can carry 55 pounds I can certainly carry a 12-pack in!

I CAN do HD video... hmmmm

Borrow my camera mount, just stick a basic camera on it and grab some film. Some cameras will take a shot every 10 seconds or so, that'd be cool to turn into a film.

I'll be spending part of the 3-day weekend getting ready for a 3-day, 266-mile ATV ride the following weekend. Probably sneak a hike in at the Wedge or somewhere else in the Swell this weekend too, if it's not too hot.

I guess I don’t have plans. The holiday really snuck up on me. I’m thinking Lone Peak might actually get done this year.

Leavin' in 10 minutes for the 12 hour drive to Alto (Ruidoso) NM. Stoppin' in San Antonio (NM) on the way to pick up 3 bags of Green Chilies at Sichlers Farm (1 Mild, 2 Medium), and also stop for the traditional Green Chilie Burger at Mannys (or The Owl if Mannys is closed), then onward to our destination of Alto. A bit of relaxation in Lincoln NF, etc. Then the 12 hour drive back on monday.

Aaron didn't want to go! He says he's no longer into them. Guess that was only 6th grade, and I don't know what that says about Robin and me. :lol8:

Robin was so determined to go she made me buy scalped seats up close for her anniversary present.

I got most of the day off today, so I've been doing house chores and packing. Tomorrow we're going to head off to Capitol Peak, a Colorado 14er.

Rejected by Lone Peak again. I really need to get this mountain off my list. Anyway, she showed up and we packed up but she was totally unprepared for Lone Peak in a 30 lb pack. After only an hour or so of hiking we retreated (maybe I could have pushed her but she was already grumpy at me for not warning her about the difficulties and it was clear I would not be having a fun weekend hiking with her).
[FONT=Calibri][SIZE=3]A quick alternate plan was invented and we ended up crashing Alison & Chere

I did end up packing in a 12-pack over Labor Day. Well actually it was six 24 oz beers (8.1%) but same thing. Put me just shy of 55 pounds!

Yeah, I did one of those Steel Reserves and 4 Idaho point PBR's and a flask of Wild Turkey American Honey whiskey. Heaviest Pack of the year for sure. Was at 45 lbs with food before the beers.:stud:

I had a great and very extended Labor Day vacation. It started with meeting up with Alison in Moab and having Don suprise us which was awesome!!! We had a wonderful time Sat. night... won't mention how much tequila I drank.. it was good. :fitz:

Then it was off to Ogden sadly for a funeral. My Grandmother that I am named after passed at the wonderful age of 92 on her 71st Anniversary. Can you believe that 71 years with the same man! They truly loved each other. She was grand lady!

While in Ogden I got to meet up with Wade (greyhairbiker) and his lovely wife and shop at the Park City outlet malls. Oh did I ever have a grand time shopping this week not just in PC, but at REI and a few other favortie shops. I have lost so much weight that nothing in my closet fits. I have a new wardrobe! Also got to ride with Sombeech, Toolguy and Garbonzo.

Anyway back to work today much rested and refreshed. :cool2:
