Mystery Canyon 8/21/10

Brought my waterproof camera... but no batteries. Surprised how well my phone did for GPS, don't even need my old Hiking Delorme GPS. Didn't do so good on pictures though. Hopefully trying to do pine creek this weekend, anyone know if its open with the road construction?

Nice! I just ran through mystery yesterday (24th) I was bummed out to find my helmet cam was dead, other than that it was a good time!

A few days ago they were giving out Pine creek permits, not sure about now, the paving crew is working their way up there...

EDIT: Pine Creek is closed as of today (8/25) until the paving crew passes the switchback (parking area) for the lower shuttle, I asked the ranger about a time line and he hesitantly said he would guess it to be closed for another week or so.
