Friday I ditched out of work early and as soon as the kids got home from school we headed out of St. George and away from the suffocating heat to Navajo Lake. This was our second solo camping trip. I was surprised at how many people were already at both campsites that are on the lake. We found a site and it was ok. No shade, but a great view of the lake.

My goal camping lately is

Great TR, that is a nice little lake, too bad about the fishing.

We stopped by the lake on Saturday and walked our dog on the far side. She had a great time chasing sticks in the water for about 1 1/2 hours. Beautiful day, sounds like you had a great time.

Ok I just read over my report. I am a bit dyslexic "pack back" I did it twice! Just had to share that in case you all missed it. :lol8:

Win we did have a good time. I am happy to find a place close enough that I can get out of the St. George heat. I really really do not like how hot it is down here. I would much rather deal with copious amounts of snow than 100+ temps every single day.

Chere, be sure to take the kids up to Cedar Breaks and do some of the day hikes. Alpine Pond is short and nice, Spectra/Rampart is a little longer but really nice. They've reopened the Cascade Falls hike and that's also short but fun, a short drive from Navajo Lake.

Kids are lucky to have a Mom that does all this with them.:2thumbs:

The plan was to do the Cascade Falls hike on Sunday morning, the weather was a little iffy when we first woke up. So much so we struck camp as fast as we could because I HATE wet gear. :haha: We were ready to go by 10AM but neither of the kids wanted to hike. So we just came home.

I am very lucky to have such amazing kids that let me do all this with them. They are my adventure buddies.

We will have to put Cedar Breaks on our list.
